Ruger Precision Rimfire

Not sure if this is old news but Ruger is coming out with the Ruger Precision Rimfire which is based on similar ergos as their centerfire RPR. Retail will be about $529. It'll have a clamp type barrel for easy install/removal, will use 10/22 mags, a 30moa base for shooting out to 300 yards, and an adj trigger (I think between 2-5 lbs).

I really like my Gen 1 RPR .243. One of these will likely find itself into my safe once the availability levels out.

I've got one preordered. I was hoping to reduce the trigger pull since I'm using it for a trainer. Ruger says it's the same trigger as the other Ruger Precisions. Timney says their Ruger Precision replacement won't work in the rimfire. Am I missing something?

Out of the box it will not drop in. It will work with some machine work. We 3d modeled the factory trigger and the Timney in Inventor and used to model for the tool path. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1540433322678868&id=242290405826506

Nice work! So how do you like the rifle overall and how does it group?

I'm wondering if it'd be worthwhile to add a bloop tube and some iron sights to make an inexpensive entry level smallbore rifle for a junior shooter program. I guess I need to get my hands on one.

I'm trying to figure out what purpose the rail on the back is used for.. ?

We had a couple of them show up at our last rimfire PRS and Precision Rimfire match last weekend. They did well. Accuracy with Eley Edge and CCI Standard was 3/4-1 MOA.

The small target for the match was a .25 inch steel target (KYL Rack, 1.5-.0.25 inch) at 50 yards. The Rugers hit all the way down to the .35 target. In all fairness, these small targets were shot off the top of a barrel. Only a few shooters hit all 8 targets. I didn't get a pic of the Rugers as I was on another squad playing match director.

So far they seem like an excellent value. If I was not knee deep in 40Xs, I might be more tempted to grab one for a lightweight boltgun.

To attach a
Mono Pod?
Are those used in PRS matches ? I always see guys looking like the Michelin man with a bunch of different bags hangin off their sides.
But I suppose not all buyers will do that with this rifle. ( I'm a chronic insomniac, so some mornings take longer to process thought)

Me personally, i am not sure, having not participated in those kinds of matches yet.
