Bought a Ruger precision rimfire,... any tips or tricks?

Apparently the only thing this board hates on more than Barnes bullets is Ruger rifles.

I had one.

I tried only one kind of ammo in it, Federal Automatch.

It would normally shoot 3/4” groups at 50 yards.

Sometimes it would shoot one ragged hole, sometimes I’d have a flier. I believe had I tried some quantity ammo the gun would have shot better.

I went out to 300 yards with the rifle. Had some pretty good outings with it on 10” steel plates.

Nephews shot the hell out of it and it always worked.

Sold it to fund another project. Wish I would have kept it.

I think for the money they’re a great rifle.

Buy and install a Kidd magazine latch plunger kit with the heavier spring. And, don't use the extended magazines, the extra length will consistently "torque" the magazine in the mag well. Stick with the 10 rounders. Also, you can "bed" the barrel block.
