Ruger precision rifle 6.5

I’m going to be doing some custom reloading for a friend of mine. He has a 6.5 Creedmore ruger precision rifle. Does anyone have a good combination that is working well. He will not be shooting beyond 500yds.

H4831SC I use it in my 6five cm
All loads in hornady brass
136 scenar L's 45gr h4831sc cci200
140 Berger elite hunters 44.8gr h4831sc cci200
140 berger vld 44.6gr h4831sc cci200

All these loads hammer in my Ruger American predator.
I'd start around 44gr and work up in .3 increments.
As you know these are safe in my rifle but may not be in yours.

43.8 grains RL 16 Fed GM205M behind 130 Berger HVLD OAL 2.842 pretty good not the best out of my MPA 6.5BA. At 200 yards getting around 3090fps maybe more? Made adjustment after the top three then shot the bottom seven.

41.5gns RL17 under a 147 ELD. Load to 2.830" to still fit in the magazine. This isn't an overly hot load in my RPR but shoots very well.

EDIT: 41gns of IMR4350 shoots very nicely too under the 147 ELD.

So far out of 5 RPR,s that I have been around, including my own, the go to load has been:
42 g H4350
BR4 primer
Berger 140 g Hybrid .005 - .010 off, or the 140 VLD .005 in to .005 off

Same here . . . quite of few people I've meant at the range firing a 6.5 CM RPR have been getting great results with the Berger 140's and H4350. That's what I'd use if my RPR was a 6.5 CR.

65CM RPR with a bartlein barrel

41.4 of h4350 with 140 ELDM about 2790 fps. This is my go to load and is awesome.

41.3 of RL 16 with 140 ELDM about 2800 fps. This was a load i used during the 4350 drought. It shot just as good as the 4350 load. Maybe even better.

I have two 6.5cm rifles
One likes 140vld hunting bergers touching lands with 41.5gr h4350
The other likes 140eldm .010 jump with 42.0 r16.

We bought a Gen 1 right after these came out and shot a ton of Prime ammunition with O.K. results. Quality handloads didn't do much better. We rebarreled it and it improved. Later we bought a Gen 2 and shot some Hornady Black ammunition with excellent results.

I suggest getting a couple of boxes of Black to see if you get the results you're looking for. It's very popular so you have search for it. Academy has it for about $20/box.

reloading for someone else is not always a good idea

Have tested various loads and configurations with my RPR. I will be testing IMR 4350 with Hornady 140 GN ELDs tomorrow. Unless we know what bullet is being used it’s difficult at best to make a recommendation. One thing is for sure, a target @ 500 yds with a PCR is a walk in the park! Just about any factory load will perform well with little effort.

Just recently got my RPR 6.5 PRC replacement from Ruger after sending my original to them because of bolt operation issue and a really poor and unevenly cut lands. After running Tubb's Final Finish through it the other day, the bore looks really good for a factory barrel. But, there's come kind of burr on the front of the chamber that's leaving a nice scratch at the shoulder-body junction on every piece of brass that's chambered in it (can be easily felt running my fingernail over it). So, am going to pull the barrel and run some emery cloth on the that edge of the chamber to get rid of the burr. Then I'll feel better about the barrel, though I only plan on using it to fire from brass since I have a new high end barrel made and ready to be mounted. Will see how it shoots using the RL-23 or Mag Pro that I have.
