Ruger M77 Varmiter

I had posted problems with my 223 Rem before. It wont group anything better than 1.5" at best at 100yrds.
Many things were done to no avail...until someone at a range told me to have it bedded.
As a last resort, I had it done. The guy who did the bedding also says the front screw to be tight, back medium, and middle just tight.
I have done so now, and the results are remarable!! It now prints down to 1/4" groups at 100yrds.
I was told that it is a common problem with the Rugers...Hope it helps anyone wanting to get rid of theirs on e-bay..

bootlaceb: My experiences also with a mdl 77, MK 11 Varminter, factory chambered in 22ppc. I was also able to take it from a 5.5# "lawyer" trigger to a really great 1.5#, with the self-installed "RifleBasix. People also bad-mouth the Ruger rings. Mine were in perfect alignement and do not leave any ring markings on the scope tube. Flat, grey finish on the stainless is very durable and maintanence free, A lot of things to like about the Ruger: one of my favorites.:)

I currently have 5 M77VT's. All have shot well, less than .5") from the start. I have owned several others that since have been traded.
Very good rifles for the money IMHO

I have a new M77 that the scope rings alignment was not good. I fiddled with the front ring until it was right. It was my first experience with this problem.
