Ruger Glenfield Rifle ??

if you look at the ruger parts list they call that a barrel nut.. also heres a pic mabieView attachment 1713846

There are barrel nuts out there for the American , but I just didn’t know if this Glenfield was something different.

I'm just wondering what they use to snug that barrel nut up with? Looking at mine the nut is perfectly round.

Sorry the picture that Kracken posted showed flats , but I never noticed till now that it is an aftermarket barrel nut. So Ruger made a barrel nut system to make it easier for them, but made the nut smooth so the consumer could not use it easily? Sounds about right.

My RAP in 6.5 Creedmoore went from 1.5 MOA to just under 1 MOA when I replaced the factory stock with a B&C fiberglass stock, with the same load.

I find the action/stock bedding system interesting. Two evenly torqued screws that cinch the barreled action through and to the stock and mag-well. It seems simple, and that's usually good.
It would for damned sure be better than the old M77 system that I've struggled with in the past. jd
