Ruger #1/6mm br

Hi, I just stumbled in the door.
I am comtemplating a Ruger #1 rebarreled to 6mm BR.
Any reccomendations for a gunsmith would be appreciated.
Also, has anyone tried the 6mm BR Mag. in a 97D?
Thanks.

Ken, Match Grade Machine, Bullberry, EA Brown, can all do a fine job on the #1. Kevin Weaver did a .20 BR short for me and Mark Stratton is doing a 7x57 as well. Greg Tannel dd a 17 PPC for me too.

Life is too short not to own a Ruger #1

Thanks, I found Brown's site, he offers 6mm BR Mag, and 6mm PPC.
I figure the standard BR would would be the least problem to reload for.

I have one #1, in 25-06, need more!
Three Martini's, .22LR,,218 Bee's, 45-70, Low wall .22 Hornet.
Trapdoor Replica, Sharps ditto.

Apparently singe shots are addictive! Sould I go to rehab or just continue buying them? :D

Continue buying by all means!

If there are ever too many... let me know and I'll come over and load up my truck! :)

Ken, EABCO will not chamber a 97D for a round with a .308 rim size because of bolt thrust and extraction issues. the "6mm BR MAG" has nothing to do with the 6mm BR Norma case as we know it. It's completely different.

Ruger #1 is no problem with a 6BR. But with a 97 D, a 6PPC or Grendel is what you want in a short, fat case with Lapua brass.

Here's the 6.5mm BR Magnum. It's a long skinny, rimmed cased:

I have two words for you:
