RPR 20 moa base problem

just got the 556 version this week, place a leupold target scope on it with good rings,in the range today and run out of elevation.I remove the scope and the 20 Mona base they came with the rifle ,using my caliper I measure the base- the barrel end of the bade is lower than the butt stock end,l think it was put backward from the factory.any comment about this,I was going to use PRP for xtc match

Please explain prp and rpr, front of 20 moa rail should be lower than end closest to your nose. What target scope exactly and what range?

Is it possible to switch it..? Will it install the other way..? If so give it a try... It either will or won't you can't really hurt anything...

Thank you ,clearly I know nothing about moa base.I shoot rifle with match sights (iron sigths), this shooting with scopes is new to me,so as you mentioned in a 20 moa base the front is always lower than the back,I'm in trouble now coz at 100 m I'm almost out of elevation, thank you again

get burris sig z rings and you can setup to have max elevation or did I miss that you had plenty lol

Since you admit you're not familiar with scopes I have to ask exactly where your bullet impact is - below or above where you want it?

The barrel end of the sight rail SHOULD be lower, that points your barrel UP relative to the scope which gives you more trajectory and range.

Try to flip the rail around. It may not fit that way which would prove it can't be backward.

If it does fit the other way then sight alignment either becomes better or much worse.

This is not something you should have to struggle with, something is VERY wrong.

Kind of confused......the rear of the rail (butt stock end) should me thicker than the muzzle end. Leaving the scope angled down towards the muzzle.

Try this. Dial your elevation down all the way. Top dial clockwise till it bottoms out. Don't look through scope while dialing. Aim at target steel or spot on ground. Hold rifle steady move eye from scope and watch area around target. Pull trigger and you will see if shot is high or low. If you watch reticule through scope while dialing and looking at target cross hair movement will confuse you. Dial elevation without looking through scope.
