This is the last crotch walnut stock I finished(A homebuilt nerfgun for my 6 year old son).
This side looks ok, but the other side could be called a black mess.

How about some more info about that NERF gun? You cam PM me or maybe start a new thread so not to derail this one, but I think others might be interested to hear about it.

Yes I've used it for cabinets, I stay away from course grain woods for these stocks.

11 year labor of love.

When my firstborn son was turning 6 I started building a nerf gun for him. Never finished it, and he quickly got to the age where he needed a real gun anyway. Fast forward 11 years, and my next son is turning 6. Finally finished it last night! 23 inches long. Black walnut stock. Rust blued...
