Roy Hunter bullets/ testing

Here’s five of the Hunter 103A’s at 1K out of a 6BR Improved. I’m pretty sure this load is ready to shoot in the ones if I get “premium” conditions. The two targets, shot on different days with this load, measure 2.1” and 3.2” with 1.5” vertical on both. There was wind on both days.

The dot is 2”.
Dave.

Wind forecast looks awesome this weekend. As much as I don’t want to put more non-competition rounds on this barrel, I don’t know if I have the patience to hold off. Matches look like a far off proposition at best.

Alex, I need a new rifle to play with!

It’s really no big deal but already created. There are twin Nemi dies that currently exist and are quite competitive. Events are won with bullets made on those original dies, just wish I owned them.

though there are several offerings in the 103 weight class they are very different in most every respect from "bumper to Bumper" actual shape of bullet. I have handled all that I can get my hands on and every version has shot well for me, not all in one barrel or another but when they win out they all will shoot great. the tuning "under the hood" can and is different for every version as well, very different in some cases. what we would call the "original 103" is not even in service anymore but was kick ass when spitting out the little copper pills. then the new die 103 was commissioned slightly different but again when tuned kick ass. then came along a few other 103 offerings boom 103 yes but very different head to toe butt again bamm!! bamm!! kick ass when a situation picks them, but hopefully your "do everything" FB is not too deep for a couple 103 offerings cause they will fall out the front of case looking for the lands. Roy's or any other 103 that's out are far from a "been there done that" situation i can assure those who are willing to go fine the best in each version.. Short of one altered version I have every offering on my shelf not because they all taste the same but be cause they don't..

So I couldn’t help myself. I have never shot in more perfect conditions. 50 degrees and dead calm. These are Roy’s 103A bullet shot at Ridgway Rifle Club’s 1K range. I have not chronographed the load and may never. I really need to stop shooting this barrel. Round count is 307.

Then I adjusted the Ezell tuner in one mark and shot this one.

I was out burning up some of the earlier generations that I had loaded for Heather to shoot. Trying to get used to running my new lenzi rest. These were about the best of the shorter boat tail versions I tested, and still have a box. "Junk" lol

Nice. Let me know how you like that rest. I have one ordered but delivery has been delayed due to the virus I guess.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, I waited about a year lol. I like it, I also like my seb max. I just never could get the max to not "trap" a conventional light gun stock. I have the heavy gun specifically shaped to not trap and use it on that gun. I'm still more comfortable, and faster, with my modified Sinclair. I suppose it's because the guns track so good, you're not needing to fish for the adjustments all to much. Slowing me down is not necessarily a bad thing lol. The past few years, I've intentionally slowed myself down....but sometimes I forget:eek:

I'm not complaining, just want to know if he's talking a lot longer
so I know if I need to order more now or not.

Dave seeing is you have all this time on your hands, Keep shooting I want you to count how many rounds you put down the barrel before it starts opening up.

I gave the bolt to my wife and gave her strict orders to hide it until matches begin. I picked up a Sako AI 6 PPC sporter to play with so at least I have something else to test. It was made around 1990 and will make a fine little deer rifle. It looks like new.
