I recently bought a Judge pistol and want to start reloading for the .45 Colt. Looking through my data books all I see is data for using mostly HP bullets unless it's cast bullets. I was wondering if I could load using 230gr RN FMJ bullets instead? I measured the length of some Hornady 250gr HP bullets and some RMR 230gr RN bullets and there is only .018" difference but if you look in the load data the COL for the 250gr bullet is .015" longer than the data for the 230gr bullet so it would seem to me that I would be able to. Any comments on this is welcome.
The only reason for me wanting to use the 230gr RN bullets is that I have 5000 of them and see no reason to buy some other bullet.
