Berry's .45 185gr HBRN?

I'm getting ready to load up some .45 auto rounds using Berry's Bullets 185gr HBRN bullets but have a question about it. I know they say to use a mid range plated data for their bullets but since these are hollow base, wouldn't that decrease the pressure because there is more space than a regular 185gr FMJ bullet?

I've loaded and shot about 500 rounds of Berry's 230gr RN bullets with no problems using data for a 230gr FMJ RN bullet but am wondering what bullet to compare the hollow base bullet with?

Not necessarily, although the base is hollow, the bullet is longer.

True, I didn't measure the two bullets compared to each other.

I decided not to use the 800X and went with the N-310 instead. There's a lot more data for the N-310 powder. I'll try them out tomorrow.

As stated above, the weight is what matters, not the base design, use the load info that matches the weight of the bullet your shooting. I do that with a 110gr HB SJHP in 38 and 357, they work very well and are much more accurate than the FB designs due, I believe, to the longer bearing surface.

Took my reloads to the range today and here's the result of what I loaded up with N310, Berry's .45 230gr RN @ COAL 1.260 using my XDS .45

3.7gr load = 4 of 5 FTE
3.8gr load = 2 of 5 FTE
3.9gr load = 5 of 5 no problems

Thats a big bullet for an XDS.... I love the 185's in my XDS with a lite powder load.

Yes it is. I originally bought those bullets for my XD-M 45. I do have 185gr bullets that I'll load up next. I also like to load light, why waste powder on plinking paper. ;D
