And it finally stopped at 223 Ackley. I only have 2 choices of reamers in no turn for a 22 centerfire. The other being a 22 BRDX. I WILL get around to that one very soon also. I bought a PT&G coned bolt and it's tired of laying around unused. I have a couple 700 single shot actions also tired of sitting around. I have the Ackley chambered in a 12 twist Brux, and have been acquiring 55 grain Sierra Blitzkings thanks to a trusted source. I was about to get knee deep in the 53 Hornady. Not trying to start any bullet wars. Fun is the end game. I ran a Shawty version of the 22 BR Ackley, and feel I will like the BRDX and the extra power.

Good choice with that Sierra 55 grain Blitz King. I’ve used them plenty in the 220 Swift.
Accurate and explosive!

I have another barrel that will be chambered in the 22 BRDX, I got an 11 1/2" twist Brux for it. I was reading the 12 was marginal for the 53 grain Hornady. Those are exceptional speeds yote hunter!

You're using a cone bolt with that breech?
No sir, I assumed anyone here would know better and see the fact I am going to also chamber a 22 BRDX. That one will get the coned bolt.

I thought a 1/10 twist was the better one for those bullets in a 223AI ? The barrel maker should be able to give you what they believe is, when you talk to them. Maybe a 1/11 would work.

Indeed I do know better. That's why I raised the question. It wasn't clear which project you were using the PTG cone bolt on. All good and you'll probably enjoy the .223 Imp. I've toasted a couple of those barrels in the P-dog towns.

Be sure to square off the cone so you dont blow out the side of the BR case. Saw that happen last summer. Shooter would have lost his sight if he was not wearing glasses.
