New 22 cal Brux 11 1/2" Twist

I ordered a 22 caliber Brux to shoot the 53 gr V-Max bullets. I looked at the website and chose an 11 1/2" twist in a Remington Varmint contour. I do my own chambering and have access to these reamers, a 223, 22 BRDX, possibly could borrow a 22/250. Most shots taken will be under 400 yds. Please chime in. I do not mind ordering any reamer suggested. I believe its long over due to have a 223 AI in my reamer collection. Possibly also 22 BRAI

22/204 Ruger is your huckelberry. 53's at 3680 out of a 24" barrel, tiny groups at 200 yards, IMR XBR 8208 with approx 29g of powder. I use Winchester brass, pockets holds up. Redding 204 Ruger, S full length bushing sizer and S neck sizer, Forster or Redding comp die sleeves opened up for 22 & 6mm versions. NO feeding problems in this case like the 223 AI.

69g Sierra with CFE is impressive in my 9T shilen barrel, 3150 fps is the bug hole load, while 3250 is a deer and hog load in the 4's. My reamer has .020 freebore and the 69's are shore nuff impressing!

223 AI will be close, but Lapua brass takes a CIP reamer with a larger web dia and larger neck dia than SAAMI Reamers...hard lesson to learn.

I am using a Remington single shot action, so feeding not an issue. I have 2 PTG bolts for it so can go either rim size.

Hey Tim, it’s been a while since I’ve talked to you. I put a post on the small stuff 22 forum the other day about my Plane Jane 22BR. At least that’s what they use to call my 6BR so I figured I’d refer to this 22 the same way. Mine is a 7.5 twist but the 11.5 twist will do the same thing with lighter bullets. It’s easy to tune and will probably do whatever you need to do. Check it out, the post was.

22 BRDX will fit your needs perfectly. Just had one chambered in a 14 twist 25” LIlja. Shoots in the ones at 3900fps with 52 gr Sierras using Benchmark powder

My BRDX reamer is a cherished Henriksen. Never used it....yet!
