Ross Schuler Muzzle brakes

Has anybody used the muzzle brake from Ross Shuler at www.muzzlebrakesandmore.com? I like the design and think they might work better then a standard muzzle brake with just striaght holes in it. also the fact that theres no holes in the bottom to inhanse the barrel jump.

their going on a 300 RUM,7/300wby

I've used a couple of different brakes made by Ross. None exactly like the ones on his home page though. Still have one on a 6.5 JDJ contender barrel.
Those look very effective.

When I bought mine 3-4 years ago he was a heck of a nice guy to talk to and did good work with a fast turn around time.

They look like they will work better cause the ports are angled back instead of be straight. And they arent bad priced either $45-$60 for a brake isnt bad I dont think.

I've got a Ross 3 port on a 6.5 Creedmoor and it is as good or better than the badge thruster I have on a 6.5 Lapua. Its a great brake and hard to beat the price.

I have 6 of his brakes and have compared them to a couple of the others out there . There the best I've ever had so far for reducing recoil and blast towards the shooter . As far as loud, I'm not sure because I always shoot with ear protection on . I use them on the 338 Lapua , 308 , 300 mags and 7 mag . All performed extremely well , Ross is a great guy to deal with too, call him in Idaho 208-587-8993 fast shipping .

I have one on a 223,at 100 yards the crosshair just moves one inch with recoil just setting on the bags. They are wonderful

I have one of Ross's side discharge brakes on my 7 WSM pistol. It works very well. The pistol used to be a bear to shoot. Now it is actually fun. I have one of my MOA barrels at Ross's now. Great product, low cost and very easy to deal with.

I have one on a 6.5 Grendel AR and it hardly moves when I fire it. I can watch my hits at 500 easy. It made the rifle track allot better on bags. It did make it slightly louder but it made the muzzle stop jumping. I am very satisfied with it. I would not hesitate to buy another.

I really dislike raining on peoples parades but I feel when someone copies someone elses research makes his exact copy of anothers research and then sells it for a drastcally reduced rate then I am inclind to say something.

I turned Ross onto my CNC friend some years ago. I got a phone call from my friend asking be a bunch of brake questions. Basically they were having accuracy problems at the time. He was describing a brake and I exclaimed, that what he was describing sounded like Daryl Hollands brake. "He said yes he thought that was where Ross got the brake and that Ross wanted him to copy it for him in various sizes".

Knowing Daryl, I called him. He did not give permission to copy his two year research and he was very angry.
Yes the brake is awesome as is most everything that Daryl makes is very high quality.
My machinist friend is the best so one can count on a great quality from Daryl and exacting machining by my friend.

So then .....when somebody put an engine onto a chasis with 4 wheels, called it a car and mass produced it for sale, nobody else was supposed to manufacture anything else like it because they were "copying" a similar design and ideas already devised by somebody else??

If patents were broken then Mr. Holland could pursue these infringements and have those parties involved be made to feel some severe repucussions. If not, then I suggest you understand capitalism and the American enterprise system......and GET OVER IT, and stop trying to make others here wonder if they are doing something unethical. You think I like the fact that the going rate for my licensed services is supposed to be $85 an hour, but there are handymen out there being sponsored by the big-box building materials stores who will do it for half price or less. Or, for that matter, that most American manufacturing jobs have been destroyed because of the deluge of cheap foreign products? But, you learn how to compete and survive these challenges......or you do something else for a living. BTW, the gentleman being discussed in this thread is NOT the only well known name in this business producing "side discharge brakes" at 1/3 or 1/2 the price of Mr. Holland's offerings.

I have installed Ross' brakes on a 308, 7wsm, 6.5-284, 22-243, they are very effective brakes & for the price you can't go wrong. By the way, my smith is using his brakes exclusively now. He was very impressed with the machining as well as the price. He has also installed APA Little Bastard & Little Jimmy on two other guns, nice brakes also & equally effective, but cost more.

This is funny. When I met Hammertyme one of the first things he did was send me a Vias brake and ask me if I could copy it. This guy is a flake and a real looser not to mention a mega LIAR. Ross

Ross brakes are all I use , have about 6 in use now. His service is next to none !

'' THANKS '' Ross ,

I bought my first muzzle brake from Ross because a lot of people recommended him to me. I had heard of Holland, but never the kind of "word of mouth" praise I've read from hear and other forums. I contacted him and told him of my 300 Blackout build. He called me back to double check the shoulder at the base of the threads at the muzzle so it would look seamless. Sure enough, a few days later this beautifully machined brake shows up and is currently in use on my 300BK. Everyone that says it is loud is right. That said, the crosshairs never rise more than 1/4 to 1/2" at 100 yds. Ross, I just got my bbl. for my suppressed 308 in, so I'll be calling you for another great product.
Thanks,
Lloyd

I installed one on a Rem700 7mm RemMag R.V contour (NO holes on bottom of the brake) fired some HSM 168gr SMK and its like shooting my 30BR as far as recoil goes. I'm very Pleased with Ross's brake.

Great Brake, Great Customer Service, Great Price and Fast Shipping!

Highly Recommend to anyone looking for a brake. Will be getting more from him!
