Rookie Question

I am mounting a Sightron 45x on a Tikka T1X for 50 yard BR. The EGW picatinny rail extends 1.5" past the front of the receiver. Should I limit the foward ring to sitting on the receiver or move it more forward to the section of the rail that exteends out over the barrel? Thanks for your input.

It won’t hurt to move it forward if that’s the way you want it.
Im surprised you have the scope pulled back so close to your eye.

It's 9.5", I may change that to 10" or even 10.5". It seems to work tho, I will know more when I go out to shoot it. Thanks

Squaring shoulders to bore from the bench will need a more rearward scope than usual. That looks a bit much. Make sure you are getting the full field of view.

Here is a picture of a 45X45 mounted on a RimX action. The ocular lens is 10.5" forward of the butt plate. I hope this helps.

You don't want rings located next to the turrents, can affect adjustments if rings are too tight or out of round.

wives tales....tho some makers do id where not to put a ring to prevent internal binding
