Quick question on mounting my scope

I have a Ruger M77 Hawkeye creedmoor in 6.5 creedmoor. Putting a big Sightron lll 10-50x60 scope on it. My mount is a 20 moa Wegain Mount. They kind of look like a picanney Mount but less slots and different laydown pattern. Front scope ring is set on end slot. I have back ring set on the farthest slot back towards butt stock of rifle. Question if you were me would you slide this back ring forward 2 slots ? ( I have 2 slots to work with going forward Towards the turrets )
It will not change eye relief at all for me because front ring is as far forward as it will go on the mount slots.
Just wondering what you experts say , never had a scope this long before and scope mount this short. Just did not want to stress scope tube and maybe make scope more balanced. I am thinking I should move that back ring closer to the turrets ? Thanks. Marty

Dont think it really matters. I like the back ring forward a bit to make sure it stays out of the way when throwing the bolt. If you have a single nut that locks the rings on the base, make sure you turn the rings so the nut is on the opposite side of the receiver load/ejection port.

Ledslinger..... thanks for help and good picture. I mounted it up last night at midnight with the back ring farthest back towards butt stock. Went to bed got up this am. Seen your post. WRONG move.
Ha ha ha. I had put my sightron swing lever on it like directions said and bolt knob hitting swing lever knob at 12 power. I moved back ring forward but still same issue but like it this way better. Thanks for your picture too.
Man oh man. So I might not be able to adjust the swing lever in a way that I can use it under 15 power which is not good. But my sightron scope does have a easy power dial to move which I was lucky on that. Some are very stiff. I am going to look at it again tonight. I don’t think it allows me to index the swing lever and turn it so swing lever knob ends up more to left of bolt. I might have to try a different brand of swing lever.
Any advise on this will be of great help to me folks. Thanks. Marty

Not much you can do about the swing lever other than removing it or trying something different as you mentioned. I'm sure you'll figure out out. Have fun shooting the new optic :)

Will I turned it around and it is working but not holding on all groves. Will see how it performs and if it will grab on the power dial for a long time. I have seen plastic products on internet that look something like a zip tie with a little plastic lever on them. I think they are used in fishing industry in Europe that holds fishing reel in the fishing pole reel socket more secure. Only $20.00. I will try that if this one slips off. Marty
