Rock Creek Barrel

How good are the Rock Creek barrels? I talked to a gunsmith that is going to build a .22-250 for me and he recommends a Rock Creek over anything else. Does anyone have any experience with these barrels? He told me that these are the barrels that the military uses on there sniper systems. Just wondering if I should go with his recommendation or go with a different barrel brand? If I should go with a different barrel brand what should brand?,Hart,Shilen, etc?) Thanks for the information I really appreciate it.

There are more then one good barrel makers out there but Rock Creek is one of the best. In December I shot a 450 33x at a 300 yrd. F-Class match with a 223. It has a rock creek barrel.

I think it's generally a good idea to use the barrel make your builder prefers, because then -- heaven forbid -- there's some sort of issue with performance vs. your expectations, the builder is less likely to say 'see, that's what you get for XYZ barrel instead of what I suggested.'

My experience with Rock Creek,.308, 5R rifling) is that they make a good barrel. I bought another, for a project that may never materialize. :-p

Well thanks guys for the advice and info. I told my smith to go ahead and use the Rock Creek barrel. Oh and by the way Alf you have some nice rifles! I just can't wait to have the rifle completed! It should be a shooter! Well thanks again!
