Please NOTE; Custom single shot actions were used, others may have pressure problems.

Sacramento 100 yard Chronograph test. Elev = 200’ Hum = 56% Temp = 61 degrees.

Five shot groups

NO pressure sighs at all. Could have gone with more powder, 37 grains is not compressed.

Results in both rifles show a need for fine tuning the RL17 load.

thanks Jerry, I too am shooting a Dasher,soon). Its nice to see this info cuz I was thinkin of RE 17 too and now know where to start., a little low of posts.) so thanks again.

I kind of had the feeling after my testing that around 2950 fps would be a good spot with my 284 and RL 17,both accuracy wise and as far as chrono numbers). Your results somewhat mimic mine in terms of velocity,although you need about a grain more powder to get the same velocity - Krieger barrel) and I had decent chrono numbers at 52 gr,2953 fps, ES 19, SD 7). While I was able to get mine up to right around 3000 fps, it seemed the ES and SD numbers started to climb after I left the 2950 fps range. I have been meaning to go back and do more testing right round 2950 fps but I have not been able to yet.
