Ring recommendations Tikka T3 lite 300WSM

2B604A11-5B58-4CEA-893A-922E92465621.jpeg New to Tikka
I seek a good set of mid priced rings ($100) and base plate.

Want to mount, site, and not worry about slipping.

300 WSM

Any of you guys have thoughts

I use the factory rings on my T3 lite 30- 06 with a T 36 scope and have had no issues. If I were to use a scope with a larger objective ( 44 mm + ) end I would go with Talley rings or a base and rings for the exact height above barrel that you are after.

Talley, EGW HD, and Tikkaperformance all make great bases. Lots of good rings out there...I have used Vortex, Night Force, Talley, Burris, and more recently Warne. Whatever you use, lap them before mounting your scope...especially with that caliber in that light rifle.

Throw the factory rings away. They are junk.

Those look sweet.

One other thing I'd like to add, with a factory rifle, you should be able to get by with "Low" rings with almost every scope you will use...until you get to a 56mm objective.

My T3's that have #4, and #5 barrels have low Talley Lightweights, and the pic rail/ring rigs have NF Ultralight "Lows".

If you want to go Med, that's fine...but it's pretty unusual to need "High" rings on a factory Tikka.

I use EGW bases on all but my Ruger 77's (different mounting setup on the rifle itself).

Good, solid one piece bases, without breaking the bank.
Downside is they are rather tall.
Good on that is that at least up to 50mm objective you can use low rings.

For rings on my hunting rifles (all but 1 rifle i own) i use the Vortex Viper aluminium rings.

On my wife's Savage 110FP i have Warne steel rings.

I will say, my low Hawkins rings on a T3x that started life as a Tac A1, with a 50mm objective, leave me with 0.008" clearance. It works but it’s a little on the tight side. So maybe think about the high rings if you go that route.
