Ring height for 56mm objective

What is the ring height for 56 mm objective scopes mounted on picatiny rail . Rifle is Remington 700 PSS.

For something like the good Seekins rings, I would go with high ones to guarantee a little relief between the barrel and objective.

In most cases mediums will work on sendero/bull barrel tapers. This pic shows 56 mm objective on sendero taper.

Med height is the safe bet, some low’s will work but it’s not a safe gamble.

Measure the scope rail height above the barrel and add a ring height measured at the ring centerline, then scope body objective diameter/2. If this number is a negative number, the scope is not clearing the barrel. If this number is a positive number, the scope is clearing the barrel by that amount. Be sure to include any lens cover or flip up cap dimension with objective diameter measurement. Also, if you are shooting a rail with built in MOA, you would have to allow for that slope in the measurement. One of the smart guys here can give you that calculation.
