What Height of Seekins Rings?

Howdy:

I was wondering what ring height guys are going with when purchasing Seekins rings? This will be for a Remington action, essentially a heavy Remington varmint contour barrel and a NightForce 56mm front objective scope. Also contemplating a Seekins one piece 30 moa base.

Would depend on the base used...and which nightforce,BR vs. NXS).

If you are getting his rings, get his base. Glen makes great and reasonable priced stuff.

Nothing beats it, can only be equaled.

Not to mention, he will take care of you and you won't find a nicer guy.

I have Glen Seekins' mounts on every rifle I own...and even some of my dad's

This makes it nice as I can swap scopes between rifles any time I want...

Email/call Glen when you figure out which scope and he'll send you the right combo.

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning towards the BR 12-42...thus I'd probably go with his 30 moa base. I've got medium Leupold QRW rings for my other BR scope and medium, Can't remember what height..0.87 or 1.0) Nightforce light weight rings for my NXS. Will definately be in contact with Glen...since he sounds like he's willing to help a guy out.

Wayne, I'd not go more than a 20MOA base if you want to shoot under a 500yd zero...

Thanks for the info. I was concerned about having enough adjustment at the top end for 1K shooting. I don't have any experience with the 12-42X. My 8-32x BR has a 20 moa base and I have no problems getting a 100 yard zero. Guess I'll have to rethink my set up.

Wayne, 20MOA is fine, 30MOA was the problem...

I have a 20MOA base on my Diamondback 6BR with a 12-42 and can get 100-1000yd zeros. I'd like about 23MOA ideally, but your rifle will differ. Factory rifles will be harder to predict than custom rifles.

the 12-42 only has ~20MOA up and down from center...

I used medium-igh Seekins on my 8-32 x 56 fro sale in the classifieds and used mediums on my 5.5-22 x 50 Nightforce both with straight taper #7 contour barrels.

Actually Glen will make them with whatever taper you want.

...and I am sure Near doesn't make one to fit a Diamondback
