Rimfire Schuetzenfest
I am pleased to announce that The Arizona Schutzenverein will be conducting the first annual Rimfire Schuetzenfest at the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Practice will begin at 8 AM on the Smallbore Range. The match will commence at 9 AM.
The course of fire consists of 50 shots fired from a bench rested position and 50 shots from a standing position. All shooting is done at 100 yards. Participant may choose to shoot one or both positions. All shooting will be fired on an official American Single Shot Rifle Association target. (See http://www.assra.com for more info). Additionally, there will be a “King” match where each shooter is provided the opportunity to take one shot at a target 100 yards away. The closest to the center will be awarded the winner of the “King” event.
This event is limited to falling block and rolling block type rifles (no turn bolts). There will be BSA Martini rifles available for shooters who wish to participate, but do not own a rifle sutiable for this event. It is requested that those using the loaner rifles use Standard Velocity/Match Grade ammunition.
Participants need to provide their own eye protection and ear protection. It is suggested that shooters bring a staple gun, rifle rest/sandbags and a spotting scope.
Cost to participate is $15. This entry fee includes, lunch and one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are available for $3 each or you may purchase 2 for $5. Prizes include ammunition, cleaning supplies and additional items. All proceeds from this event will go toward funding further Schuetzen activities and projects!
It is requested that participants contact Scott Elliott to RSVP a spot if possible due to planning for meals. For additional information please contact Scott Elliott, scottwilliamelliott@yahoo.com
