Dirt clod plinker for the grandson. I found a Ruger plastic stock to
replace the wood, and added a top rail for a 2 power Bushnell T-Dot
Scope and rail is a bit high. so I scrounged a cheek riser from a beater
Choate stock. With the barrel band in the way of a rail for a bipod, I'll
need to get creative.....Either way, I now have a way of getting rid of
4 bricks of ThunderBolt ammo I traded powder for.....LOL

Now that my friend is a work worthy of MacGyver-ing trophy,.

This my farm duty Remington 510, dirt dobber gun, had to cut the barrel off, a dirt dobber built a nest in it, so it cost me $20, Shoots pine cones at 200 with PMC Target, a Liberty Torch suppressor.

A few weeks ago, I let a really nice Savage-Anschutz 54 Sporter I'd seen on GB get away by not exercising the 'buy it now' option before I left for lunch, only to find that someone else had beaten me to it over the noon hour. So when a friend sent me a link to another one of these fine old rifles, did I get right after it? Nope, I sat on my hands for nearly a week, almost hoping that someone else would buy this one. But next time I checked, there it was, still listed. So I called the guy, and had a really enjoyable 35-40min visiting on the phone. I finally made him an offer, which he accepted, and the rifle arrived at our post office yesterday. It was made in 1967, and the stock is in pretty nice condition, especially when the rifle's age is taken into consideration. There are some small scratches and one or two compression marks on it, but honestly, it's nice enough to just leave it alone and enjoy the rifle, as previous owners have obviously done. The metal finish is perfect - not a scratch on it, nor any noticeable wear on the bluing. I've wanted one of these rifles ever since I first saw an ad for them when I was in high school, either in Guns & Ammo or American Rifleman, or both. After I'd mounted a used Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 that I bought on eBay, I took it out yesterday afternoon and zeroed the scope with Norma TAC-22, then shot groups with various lots of SK Std+, Rifle Match, and LR Match. Oddly enough, it didn't particularly like any of the SK stuff, which is usually my go-to ammo in any of my custom barreled Vudoo or CZ rifles. Instead, it seems to prefer either Norma TAC-22 or Match. The other Anschutz is a much newer 1712 that I recently bought from a member over on RFC, and I'm pretty pleased with it as well.

Whatever - I've finally bought the rifle that I'd been lusting after for 50+yrs, and am pleased with it...

New to me Suhl 150. Unknown stock. I am not crazy about the paint so it will probably be different soon. Factory trigger which is simply amazing. Wearing a Weaver T24 for now. New optics on the way. It has a tuner that goes with it. Where I shoot most you cant use tuners so I have it off to find what ammo it likes without the tuner on. I shot it with the tuner and it shot incredible with Eley match. If it shoots anywhere near that well without the tuner its going to be fun.

To mark where the tuner goes back on. I shoot at a place on Friday where tuners are not allowed. That way when I put it back on its close to the same place. I have never used a tuner. It will be a learning process for sure.

Absolutely love it...love it so much I have 6 XLR Envy chassis including the Envy Pro JC Heavy Competition....

I've owned and tested most of them.. MDT multiple different styles of theirs including ACC,, MPA, etc.

The XLR just feels natural to me. Fits me perfectly. I have them all setup the same...all have Zermatt TL3 actions (except the RimX) and BnA triggers...weights, weights rear stock tube.. absolutely love them. Not a single complete.

Well...I did finally get a chassis but it wasn't for my CZ 457. Picked up a MDT chassis for my new Vudoo V22S.

Interesting how thet set up and built the bench you shoot of of. If someone is set up next to you (or their are multiple shooters) do you notice any vibrations on your lane?

Ha!!! HA!!!! HA!!!! Vibration is an understatement....more like a roller coaster!! LOL!!!

There are 25 benches, each has a right hand and left hand side for a total of 50 seats. From one end to the other is about ninety feet. I can set up on bench #1 and when the shooter on bench #25 ninety feet away works his bolt, my rifle will vibrate pretty good.
Can you imagine having a shooter right next to you??? How about twenty shooters at the same time!! LOL!!!

But wait.....there's more.....No two bench spots are the same and don't even get me started on the seats themselves!! LOL!!! It is a quick, easy and generic design that works great for the blasters.

Just to show how each spot is different...see how much room there is between rifle and vertical 2x4 in this pic. But hey.....I do get a built in crack to put my bipod legs in. LOL!! Now take a look at the next pic......and you better hope you don't draw a seat with the vertical 8x8 support post that can be seen to the left in this pic.




Now take a look at this one. Rifle is only about 1/2" off the vertical 2x4.



We shoot ARA matches here and another local range. On a brighter note....the benches at the other range might be worse!! LOL!!!

I'm very glad both ranges are available to us and I'm having a BLAST shooting ARA matches at both.

Nothing too fancy. But out of the box, accuracy seems promising.

Sako Quad HB 22lr, Leupold VXIII 6.5-20x40 EFR Target HairDot AO.

Only 100 shots done at 50m, really pleasant except trigger which was on the heavy side for my taste (2 lb).
Returning to home, I've successfully try a Jard previously bought for a T3. Now trigger is a crisp 14oz, way better.
