Rimfire Gallery--Show Us Your Gun

That looks to be a modified Harrell which they call a wasp. the late James Pappas did them as well as Harrell. brimgs the weight down to about 6-6-1/2 oz.

thanks for that info. Apparently in the mid 2000's those J. Pappas sliders were all the rage. I am new to the RF BR so this was the first I have seen. The slider does screw directly onto the full size Harrels I have on my Kidd. Have not shot the Kidd with it yet though

The rifle and it's stock are pretty unique and I am thinking on posting some more pics of it on various forums in hopes I can find some more info from the builder or original owner. I bought it from a guy in Florida who said he bought it from someone 6 -7 years previous who had it built for his wife and she lost interest in shooting. From that I believe the rifle was built somewhere between 2012 - 2015. I fell in love with that stock, fiberglass can be pretty and shoot well but something about highly figured wood that is just special. Rimfire BR is just catching on in my area again and just a few are doing unlimited. Most of them are using Annie's, Vudoo's and RimX's . Hopefully it will grow

Judging from one range trip the rifle shoots better than I do. I have not even finished tweaking the tuner in and the previous owner said the rifle was only average until he started experimenting with slider positions.

Just a Ruger Precision Rimfire. The scope is temporary. Its off of my Match rifle its the Trijicon Ten Mile 4.5-30. I picked this up from a friend so I can get some trigger time and not burn up so much of my match ammo components.

Dirt clod plinker for the grandson. I found a Ruger plastic stock to
replace the wood, and added a top rail for a 2 power Bushnell T-Dot
Scope and rail is a bit high. so I scrounged a cheek riser from a beater
Choate stock. With the barrel band in the way of a rail for a bipod, I'll
need to get creative.....Either way, I now have a way of getting rid of
4 bricks of ThunderBolt ammo I traded powder for.....LOL

Picked up my UMRR on Thursday and took it straight to the range. The color is called Disco Moss, looks even better in person.
i once had a Rem in a Eliseo stock.. just about that same color.. shot a few records with it.. it loved the 75 Amax and shot great all the way to 900 yards.. that last hundred though.. no more poop to pop!

Here is my Remington M540XR Target 22lr. I found the stock, bedded it and did the "stippling". It came with a walnut sporterized stock. It is a singleshot with the trigger at 6oz. It is ballanced perfect and shoots better than I can. I did not realize how cluttered that bench has become-looks like I need to clean.

Mine and my wifes Anschutz 54 rifles. Hers has the bikini scope cover. There is a Trijicon Ten mile 4.5-30 under there. Mine has a Weaver T24. Today will be our first trip to the range with both of these rifles. Its amazing how these old rifles shoot. We have shot a couple that belong to a friend. I expect these to do just as well.image0 (1).jpegimage1 (1).jpeg

Beautiful rifle. How did you do the stippling? Looks pretty damn good to me.

Its way more fun to go shoot than clean a bench!!

Thank you. For the stippling, I taped off the areas I wanted done with masking tape for a reference. I used 4 Dremel ball mill bits (1/32”, 1/16, 3/32” & 1/8”). I started with the largest and made random hole ½ the diameter of the bits. Just keep going until the area is saturated. I wiped a darker golden oak Minwax stain into the holes, then wiped it off after 5 minutes. I like the feel and look of it better than stamped stippling.

I also have a sporter repeater and a target single shot Savage Anschutz 64 & match 64. I had to really scrub them to get all the carbon out. When I looked at the bore with a borescope it was black. I used a new bronze brush and cut 3/8” wide strips twice the length of the brush and folded them over the brush. 1st run a patch saturated with Kroil oil, the saturate a patch with JB bore cleaner and make 10 passes with JB. Keep alternating. One took about 40 passes, the other 60. The clean with acetone and run dry patches until the black stops. It will take 20+ rounds to season the bore before it starts showing what it can do.

Is that cut checkering or pressed? Either way it looks very nice. I can remember a time it cost a pretty penny to get that style of checkering on a rifle. Those curvy borders made it very hard to do by hand with manual tools or electric tools.

That’s a good question. I agree it would be very difficult
