So here is my Rim-X action rifle I put together recently to shoot our local long range 22 precision matches. The stock is made by WOOX, the scope by Athlon. While all my competitors are using a rest or bipod, I shoot off a ground matt using a sling. I have also included one very lucky 5 shot 100 yard group fired with this rifle using Eley 10X.

Remington 37 that has a barrel put on from Shenandoah Guns Inc. The funny thing is the barrel was on something else, flipped completely over to be fitted to the 37 action and the original sight mount holes were never filled in!

This firearm is from the personal collection and estate of Lieutenant Colonel Francis Conway.
Answering the call to duty in World War II, he joined the US Army the day after Pearl Harbor and served in the Small Arms Repair Section, C Company, 130th Maintenance Battalion, 8th Armored Division.
He served in that capacity throughout World War II.
He stayed in England, took part of the "Battle of the Bulge" through Normandy, France, Alsace, Belgium, Germany, and Czechoslovakia until the division was deactivated in November 1945.
After World War II he had tours with the missile and ordnance systems in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Redstone Arsenal, and White Sands Proving Ground.
As a Master Sergeant, he joined the Army Rifle and Pistol Team in 1953.
In 1957, he was commissioned as a Captain in the Ordnance Corps by the Army Chief of Staff, and served as Commander, US Army Europe Marksmanship Unit from 1963-1966 and Ordnance Officer, US Army Marksmanship Unit from 1966-1970.
Conway was the "father" of the XM-21 military sniper rifle and contributed to several technical shooting publications.
His victories include the Coast Guard Cup, the Infantry Center Rifle Championships, the Third Army Championships, the Member Trophy, the Marine Corps Cup, and twice he won the Wimbledon Cup in 1955 and 1956. Along the way, he set several national and international shooting records.

Here's my new to me , first 22 bench gun. I should add , rem 40x , U.S. 22 LONG RIFLE, jewell trigger, japan t36 crosshair with dot, barrel by Ed Shilen 22rfx17, fiberglass stock. Harrels with weights , and i have no idea on the mid barrel weight.

This is my squirrel hunting setup that I inherited from late my father.

The rifle is a Ruger 77/22 long rifle with a Hart barrel. The scope is a Leupold 6.5X20 40mm EFR, with the Leupold varmint hunter reticle. I have the drop chart taped to the stock and I have a SigSauer Kilo 1600 rangefinder to verify the distances.

The ammo is the discontinued Federal Gold Medal UltraMatch 40gr. solid. I have 650 rounds of it and the 500rd. brick is still in the original cellophane.

I am terrible at still hunting so I do all of my hunting from a folding chair and always shoot off of either shooting sticks or a Caldwell deadshot tripod.

All metal is original Winchester and I used my very last two piece English Walnut blank for this rifle. Steve did the stock work as well. He’s obviously a very gifted craftsman! Planning an article…..

I started hanging around with the "wrong crowd" at my range, and it's cost me dearly. It started with a Bergara BMR in the cheapo stock, so then a Boyd's stock seemed necessary, then a better scope, then a TriggerTech trigger. I plan on reshaping the forend of the stock, it's a bit too "benchy" for me, I want to use this rifle for more than just punching paper.



Yet before I made all the changes, the first day out with this rifle was pretty inspiring. I tried several kinds of ammo from the hi-vel stuff to the CCI Standard velocity then a bunch of fancy RWS and Norma stuff. To my delight, it liked the CCI SV better than anything else, so I bought several bricks. Pretty good group for an off-the-shelf rifle with eight cent ammo!

Technically it’s not a rimfire but it fills the same roll in my safe and is more accurate and consistent than any of the various rimfire I’ve had. .22cal, crosman premier hollow points at 900fps with single digit es/sd across 10 shot strings. Can turn it up but groups start opening up with pellets, haven’t played around slugs too much. Clay pigeons at a scosche over a 100yrds on a calm day are easy with the pellets.
