Rimfire Gallery--Show Us Your Gun

Brian's rifle will be an upcoming Gun of the Week, once I can get a number of pressing items completed.) Brian has done some very interesting development for us involving barrel indexing.

Thanks BHarvey! I want one just like yours!!!! :)

I found out that an Anschutz BR50 is the way to go. I am just beginning on Rimfire Benchrest and will contact some gunsmiths to see which equipment and price will be the best "package" for my need and pocket.

Looks you done some painting on the stock. Also, it looks it have an adjustable cheekpiece.

Benchmark barrels... it looks like they are the best today... what about the factory Anschutz barrel? May be it did not live up to your expectations...

The stock came from Anschutz like it is. I have not done anything to it but pillar bed it. This stock was a factory upgrade option worth $500 over the standard BR50.

Here are some pics of the rifle I got off Guns America per my post on page 2. The stock was from a 54 wing safety that I got off Ebay. It came complete with about an 1/8" coating of some crappy soft clear. Lots of sanding needed to get back to fiberglass.

I made the pillars and eschutchens on my Grizzly 4003g lathe. The design of the eschutchens is from the Richard Franklin "Stress Free Pillar Bedding" article on the main page. The trigger guard is a Numrich item with some milling on the mounting surface and a LOT of polishing. Rustoleum black Appliance spray paint. Other than some minor cosmetic finish blems I am pretty happy. It looks good from 5' away :)

Here's my Anschutz 2013 actioned prone rifle. It has Lilja, Broughton and Hart barrels, the rear sight is a Mitchell tube sight and the scope is a Mitchell 1600 20X. Stock is by Master Class Stocks and the metal work is by Mike Ross. A 1.5 oz. Kenyon trigger is the crowning touch.

Hello German,

What an amazing rifle you have here !!! Love the "Mitchell" scope and sight too !!!
I've some Unertl scope in my vault and it look like an Unertl target 20X with sunshade and modern mount....Really cool and efficient.
Have you some information to share about this particular scope ? A web link perhaps ?
By advance thank you.

D2, sorry about the delay in replying, I was at Camp Perry for a couple of weeks and had no computer access.
The Mitchell scope is best described as a modern Unertl with better optics and a better mechanism. I have a few Unertl scopes so my comparison is based on my observations there. Mr. Mitchell is not making the scopes or tube sights anymore due to failing eyesight and we are the poorer for that as his scopes are truly the zenith of external adjustment scopes. They were available in a wide range of powers and objective sizes, some quite large. Mine is the 1600 model, which is about the size of a 1.5" Unertl. I will treasure it for as long as I draw breath!

It's an Anschutz 2013 BR50. The stock is factory, barrel is a Benchmark, tuner is a Fudd and the butt is 3# of copper. She's my favorite rifle.
Brian
would you mind telling me how much weight the fudd tunner is?
Thanks Jason

SHe may be a Savage, but she's mine and will hold a .375 to .5" 5 shot group anr 50 yards from the bench...
