Rimfire ammo

Any reason that I cannot reply to that thread? I have about 22 bricks that I purchased a few years ago at brick at a time. I am not a gouger as it is not for sale. I am not a hoarder as myself and family will use it as time goes by.
This is the same as my powder, brass, bullets, and primers. I have bought along when I found a deal. I didn't need it at the time, but knew I would later. I'm tired of people whining about gougers and hoarders. If you think somebody is doing this, just don't buy it! I think that I am fine, but if I need something I will bite the bullet and buy it.

Butch,
I stand with you 100%.
Gotta like the $8.00 bricks of 22LR ammo of years past.

Those who snooze-Loose!

Those who snore-QUITE Whining!

Put Up or Shut Up!

You have no one to blame but yourself.

Butch,

I'll take 11 of those bricks at $8.00 each! Oh, almost forgot, I'll also take a couple ounces of gold at $300 an ounce as well!!! :o

I agree with you..it's not hoarding...it's pre-planning and preparing!

Fair deals are out there to be had..you just got to look around a little.(Thanks Dave B.!!)

Price here at a recent gunshot was $100.00 a brick. Sorry, that is BS.

Yeah, the store owner probably just got his health insurance bill that satisfies the (latest) HCA mandates. It's pass his costs on ...or close shop....this is reality....and it's happening NOW. Wait till this Socialized HC hits full swing......it ain't gonna be pretty.

100% spot on Butch!!! I get sick to death of those hoarding threads, I am a hoarder and proud of it,....if that is what you want to call me, I just call it thinking ahaed, I know what is going to happen so if I didn't have components I would pay inflated prices to stock up and hoard all I could but I don't have to cause I been stocking for years cause I saw this coming for years as many did, I have all I need if need be, would like more but I can get by on what I have till I expire ;)

Yeah, I'm a hoarder too.

Each time I build a new rifle, I pick up at least 500 pieces of Lapua brass (all with the same lot number) and have a reamer made to match dummy rounds made up using that brass. Given the price of Lapua 6.5 X 284, not for the thin of wallet. Likewise I pick up a bunch of bullets (same lot number), primers (same lot number) and powder (same lot number).

Same thing for my F/TR rifles.

If you are serious about competition, it's what you need to do. And competition is the reason bullet makers have 500 and 1,000 count boxes.

Right now, what is being seen isn't hoarding, it's knee jerk panic buying.

I had lunch with my brother a few weeks ago and we started talking ammo.He was shocked by what I told him I have in my ammo locker. His comment was he had never bought a thousand of anything and I told him I never bought less than 1K at a time. Now he is looking for 50 rds of 22mag for his carry pistol when fly fishing. Some never learn.

Let's just hope we don't have a similar "run" on toilet paper....

Bwahahahaha!!!!! now that's funny right!! Montgomery Wards is out of business and anti-Gun Sears and Roebuck should be and might as well be so were in a world of hurt if this happens LOL.

I spent this past Sunday at the Tulsa Arms Show. Saw quit a bit of 22LR, but, didn't price any of it as I seem to "plan ahead". Didn't see any real bargains there, so, I'd suspect the 22LR wasn't bargain priced , either.

butch, i also was at the big show in tulsa & set-up on a end cap for 2 days, there were 2 ammo dealers across from me plus my son & 2 friends bird-doggin the whole show for 22 lr for a good price........ no-luck; in fact the man across from me bought 2 bricks of super x win. 22lr for 80.00$ & put them on his table for 120.00$??? 15 mintes later(SOLD), As long as we keep payng these prices, the problem will never end ---------------- good day Craig

Here is what I fear will happen, this ammo thing will follow the gas price trend. Gas prices get jacked through the roof, the price comes down 30 cents in a year, and all the news stations report on how the gas price has fallen. The public just belives all is well and the new norm is established. I can forsee this exact scenario playing out with ammo and reloading components. I also fear our politicians will apply such enormous excise tax on ammo/loading supplies, that only the rich will be able to afford it. I can't blame anyone one for hoarding under the political climate we find ourselves living in. If I could find and afford it, I would be doing the same.

Not if it was Eley Tenex or other top-tier ammo. In fact, that price might be a bargain. And if it was Winchester Wildcat or some other bottom tier offering, then let the free market reign. Nobody is forced to pay those prices. Walk away.

You want real BS? Taxes on every friggin' thing there is, squandered by your government on things that fail or cost way more than they should. And try not paying those. You'll end up in serious trouble.

That is my biggest fear also. I've seen it happen with powder and lead in the past. Hopefully we get through this and prices stabilize somewhat.
