Are you going to do the build? if so Turbo V3, Stiller 2500X or Trident. Benchmark 3G barrel or if you will have someone build it for you let them decide as they would be best to know what works, same for the barrel.Looking at building a custom 22lr. Going to shoot 50 yrd benchrest. This is new to me. What would be best action and barrel to use?

ThanksI rate the barrel and how it's done about 10 times as important as which action you use.
V22S?..another vote for the vudoo got my shipping notice today..![]()
All my rifles are Turbo's. One was bought due to pedigree, one I traded a Cooper TRP-3 for & rebarreled, & the new V1 because at the time it was the only left bolt option out there. It is also the cheapest at $900& I wanted a new rifle.
The cheapest route may not actually be if you can't do the work yourself. Having to send it to a gunsmith negates any savings whatsoever.
The V1 I recieved was not ready to go out of the box & did need a little tweaking. The firing pin was not on its stop so I addressed that by taking a few thousanths off the bolt handle/cocking piece face.
The firing pin was hitting to high on the case so it needed reshaping. Not difficult.
I've replaced the fp spring with a Wilkinson spring too. Well, actually Tom did it for me but replaced nonetheless. I was getting ftf once in a while.
The extractor clip also needed a little tweaking as it was not allowing the extractors over the case. Another very easy fix as all that was needed was adjustment with some needle nose pliers. Anthony walked me thru it.
Its said the Stillers actions need nothing. I don't know, I've never owned one & don't ever recall hearing anyone say they did. Now what fun is that??
Bottom line, of the 2 that are obtainable now, & I'm sure the new Vudoo, & all the countless others being 10X's, Halls, ULA's, 40x's,Suhl's, Anschutz 54's, etc can win on any given day if setup properly, but as John said you're gonna need a good barrel & ammo 1st & foremost. The action can't overcome mediocre other equipment.

Thanks for the information, have decided to go with the Turbo v3 action and Lilja 4 grove tight bore barrel. Zack Donovant of Old Dominion Custom rifles will be doing the gunsmithing. I didn’t realize they were ready to ship. Good for you!
Wait for the Vudoo. A good idea especially since there will be dozens of used rifles and actions on the market at a fraction of the cost you might pay now.
