Rifling in CZ 550: Borescope Pics

Is this a CZ thing? I am used to seeing the rifling start 90 degrees and uniform. This looks uniform, but really different. Thoughts?
Gun has 100 rounds through it.

I don't know if your barrels any good or not. What i do know is if you paid money for that borescope you got ripped off. I wish you were close so you could look through my Hawkeye and you could tell if the barrels OK or not.

Oh...LOL. I'll have to research that. It is absolutely gorgeous to look at through the scope. I think I jacked up the picture when I applied auto correct and crop to it.

The barrel is one of the best I've seen through the scope. I am not asking if the barrel or borescope is good. I am asking if anyone has seen the lands cut like that from the chamber end.

CZ barrels are indeed hammer forged.

Your first screen shot looks like two images merged, and looks like a kaleidoscope, so cannot comment.
Are you implying that there is no leade, that the leade / throat is tapered down to the bore, and the rifling extends into it also?

Look up borescope pics of 5r rifling. Thats what they tried to accomplish there. The hammer forging cant make sharp land/groove junctions reliably

Shoots everything I load into a ragged hole. Even with a throat so long I can't get anywhere near the lands. LOL I'll try to get the video to load. Hopefully it comes through clear.

I have some Swiss barrels, also hammered, which use a similar form. Winchester and Remington barrels are more conventional in form. The Swiss barrels are some of the straightest, smoothest, and most consistent barrels I've had in the shop. They shoot very well too. WH

Yes, and the areas marked in red. Is that just the mandrel shape tapering back into the leade?

Yep. Have a 550 American .243 that has been very accommodating of loads and is extremely accurate. What caliber is yours? Every time one comes up for sale, I am tempted to add another....

Mine is a 9.3X62.

I like my 550 American in 243 so much that one of my 243s went down the road and another is getting rebarreled to 6XC.

What Dusty says: 5R rifling on hammer forged barrel. I might add that's one of the better CZ barrels I've seen.
