rifle scope on pistol ?

I posted on 22 cal thread...anyone tried a rifle scope on a Contender in .223Rem? Will this work?

I run one on an X-P, they do work.

It works as long as there isn't any or very little recoil of course. I shoot an Encore 223 with a rifle scope.

All my XP-100's have rifle scopes on them, with the exception of the .284 Winchester.
The Contender's do too........

Thanks for the linked article...it was great ! I 'll bolt that scope on and give it a try. If that fella in the article can do it with those big bangers, It should be fine with my 223. I have a cherry old 4-12 Vari-X II that will help the old eyes VS. the old 2 1/2-7 Burris LER that has been on there. Thanks again a bunch !!!

Yeah, it'll work... but you better make sure that 'scope has really long eye relief if that pistol has much of a recoil!

You really don't need all that much really long eye relief...
I shoot this 25/284 XP-100 a lot with a 5.5x22x50 NXS on it and never had it get me, even in some odd situations....

Howdy....
I also use Rifle Scopes on my Pistols from 218 Bee Contender to a 338 Edge bolt gun .
It just takes a little Practice . You might also check out the Specialty Pistols web site.

Here's another XP-100 chambered in the 6mm BR wearing a 8x32x56 Nightforce BR setting in one of my custom rear grips...
It's a 14 twist and it shoots the 66 grain Fowlers like lasers.
