Right I don’t see how just one would work.I have used "wedges" for years with great success with scopes mounted to a rail.
The sets that I use contain 2 pieces and when used properly, they work perfectly!
The set I have has two pieces as well. After getting the scope in the rings with the caps on but not tight I normally place those on my rail underneath the turret housing. I want to see the housing fitted flush with that top of the angled piece. Sitting at my shooting bench and looking thru the scope at 100 yds. at a plumb tall target line it normally is on the money or very close without adjusting or rotating the scope in the rings.I have used "wedges" for years with great success with scopes mounted to a rail.

The other part is milled into the base of the single piece scope rings. Thats where the problem is occurring, when you try to do this with the one piece mono scope rings with the wedge system built into it like the SPUR mounts, ZCO and some others. The only way they will work is if when the clamps are tightened the scope mount locks to the rail without shifting off parallel with the pic rail. With 2 piece rings it doesn't matter because the wedges are referencing off of the pic rail not the bottom bar in-between the rings on a one piece mount.Right I don’t see how just one would work.
