Rifle market pretty flat

The used market is grossly over priced. The panic markets of the Obama era jacked the prices to "more than new" levels and never came down. I work both of the Wannamaker shows and prices are just STUPID for used guns. And the dealers don't care, they really don't seem to mind sitting at a gun show for a weekend and never selling anything. I see the same crap loaded and unloaded out of guys cars year after year.

I mean how do you explain someone pricing some used gun more than you can walk over to the next table and buy it brand new? That is some kind of weird logic right there. Oh, and you are never allowed to even discuss the fact that their gun is priced more than new, as they might be offended... I am not really a fan of these new gun people that have mainstreamed being a gun person. It happened during the panics. A whole new bunch of people with very strange ideas about firearms.

Gun shows were shooters, hunters, wackos, and conspiracy theorists and gun trading was like the trading floor at Wall Street. It was good place to be. Today I see very few people leaving with guns at the Wannamaker. Back in the day at the Dayton gun show I used to buy 10 guns and day and flip them within minutes.

What will the Socialist shills in the media do when the First Amendment that they hide behind and abuse is worthless now that they've been a willing partner in the destruction of the Second Amendment?

What really burns me is that they keep pushing “social acceptance” of every nut job out there, yet they want to destroy everything that makes us “US”!
Oops, I’m sorry. My brain leaked a little steam.
Tikka, Tikka, Tikka!

Joke all ya want, but reckon there's more than a few "Taci cool" shooters that frequent this site, unbeknownst to you...

Reckon they may want your brass to shoot practical matches with their "taci cool" rifle, but don't have any use for a rifle that's built for a bench. One might ponder the popularity of a given shooting sport, and look at the market for purpose built rifles as being symptomatic of that interest...
Don't get your thong all wadded up, I shoot them tacti cool rifles, Just not in Gap camo

You should know who you are talking to and talking about fredo. That's the reason why we shouldn't make "Ass-umptions".

I don't even go to gun shows anymore. Used to get good deals on powder, primers, etc. at gun shows, but last couple I went to, perhaps 10 years ago now, the prices were stupid. Right at what Sportsmans charges or more. Gun shows are little more than junk collections and people who think their stuff is worth gold. I'll buy new every time to avoid talking to those kinds of people. They're just too aggressive and standoffish, like they know they're trying to screw you and dare you to mention it.

Hmmm.......A man who keeps his cards close to his chest.;) OK.
If I had a Python, I wouldn’t sell it. All I have are Smith & Wessons.:(

the only thing I take to gunshows is powder and primers and other reloading stuff, only do about 3 per year, for them it beats the hell out of driving 80 miles for 1 pound,,keep prices
down also,,

Jeez a lot of uptight fellas wondering about.

NZ has no 2nd amendment (nor need for one) and yet plenty of Tikkas are sold down there. Undoubtedly the most popular hunting rifle in NZ and they have some pretty gud huntin (and fushin) down there.

Perhaps we leave the politics out. :)

More like, you "Ass-uming" I should, or shouldn't, know who people are here?
As if that matters to how I'll reply, LOL?

Just responded to what I read, which read like the (all too common here) dismissal at anyone who doesn't shoot bench comps.

If that post was an attempt at self deprecating, it didn't work. Or, I read it TOTALLY wrong, which is not impossible...

@fredo
Poking fun at yourself is important to survival. Also gotta be able to take what is dished out. moondog owns more steel targets that damn near anyone on this forum.

Also don't worry too much about the benchrest guys are here. They are so old, they were shooting before there was wind. :p

As promised, Here are some pics of this morning's experience. First, a few details. After sighting in, I shot my first string of 20 rounds at about 50*F with virtually no wind. The sun was directly in line with my target, but dialing down the scope to 20X made it visible enough to shoot. By the time I got to the 200-yd string, it was about 67*F with significantly more intense sunlight and heavy mirage effect, and I should have let the barrel cool in the shade before starting. The barrel got hot, fast. By the time I was done, you could barely hold your hand on it. I probably should have stopped for the sake of the rifle, and it's pretty clear there were some fliers in there. If a rookie can shoot like this off a bipod with factory ammo in a factory rifle that retailed for $550, you can see why people might be less interested in used ones.

20 shots at 100 yds in 19 minutes, 46 seconds. Wind:calm. Temp:50*F

20 shots at 200 yds in 19 minutes, 27 seconds (not my best performance). Wind:less than 5MPH and variable. Temp:67*F
