Rifle for Unertl Scope

I have a 24x unertl and I am looking for a rifle to put it on. I will be looking for a good center fire 40x or 722, but wonder if I am missing other rifle models that come with the holes in the barrel ready for the front mount. Any other rifles I should consider?

I had them on a Ruger #1b in 220 weatherby rocket and on a remington rolling block in 25-35. Also had one on a mauser 98 in 220 weatherby rocket. Still have that rifle but sold the Unertl. It was nice when Unertl was located here in Mars Pa. you could go there or call and get parts easily.

Is that a Kuharsky rear mount on the Balvar scope? Steve Earle is making a unertle style rear mount for th Balvar

The model 70 is on the list now for sure. The scope was a gift, I’d just love to have a period correct rifle for some shorter range local BR competitions.
