Rifle Brass Sorting Experiment - Part One

I've noticed that if you write on a case with a magic marker, then heat it, the marks are hard to remove with any solvents. What about using a metal marking engraving pen, the ones that vibrate?
I actually tried that but didn’t have much luck. Wasn’t crazy about digging into the case wall. Need to figure out some sort of etching process.
 
I didn't mention it in the article, but something I may try for the next round w/ more cases is one of these numeric stamps, which should persist through several rounds of stainless steel tumbling:

(I know "microstamping" can trigger some folks -- calm down, this isn't that)

They're small enough to mark inside the extractor groove, but not as sloppy as an electric engraving pen.
 
You fellas etching or stamping your cases - BE CAREFUL!!!


Because...well, you know...that might change the weight of the case without changing the volume :) :) :)
