Richards Microfit Stocks

The fact that they do make left handed stocks and the right bolt left hand stocks is not the only reason that I have used them as I do have some wood working skills and Have not had a problem with them and I have several and have done some for friends in Savage, Winchester, Remington. I have had much worse luck with H-S precision stock with the screw holes not lining up! On the Richards I always pillar bed them! I would buy another from them! They offer more styles than any other maker for a lot cheaper price!! But to each his own!! Ron

We have beat this old horse . It should be dead by now !!!!

I have built five rifles with Richard Microfit Stocks...two hunting and three bench rest. They all needed lots of work. RMF has a very wide selection of walnut grades and laminate colors. The walnut middle grades are very striking.....haven't needed to go higher.

I order the BR stocks 1/2 inch larger than finished width and re-cut: (1) forearm arcs, sides and bottom (3) buttstock top, sides and bottom (3) barrel channel on a manual mill. This assures parallelism throughout the entire stock. I have ordered them flat top and inletted...I prefer flat top.

I have tried another brand but have found parallelism and symmetry to be lacking at a much higher price point. Both stocks needed re-cutting to achieve the desired results.

I would rather start from scratch with a piece of laminated birch or walnut since I am duplicating a lot of work to assure the parallelism however thumb-hole and palm swell requests make it beyond my limits on a manual mill.

Bottom line is that RMF stocks provide a very good selection of options at an attractive price point to alternatives.........IMO.
