?? Richards microfit stocks??

I haven't found alot of info on stock makers, builders, or much on someone that does fitting. I really have my eye on a benchmark style laminate from Richards microfit stocks. And I'm almost hell bent to go ahead and get it! It has been the most appealing style and look. But , I've read reviews online about horrible fit issues as far as what is advertised as 96%, 99% inletted and also bad cust. Srvc. Need opinions on what's what here! Like I said before I do really find the particular model that I like the perfect stock in my book. Just scared to deal with a headache in the event some kinda problem arrises. Also, got a still pred. Action, so what % inletting do I want here. I'm new to the custom project thing. Please don't just read- respond. Thanks n advance!!!

Ever sense they put a new chain in their chain saw inletter they have been doing lots better in the fit and finish department. You'll still need to do some work to get it all exactly where you want it but its not that big of a deal, just take your time and do a little thinking ahead of time..
Tell them you have a Stiller and they will cut it to that IF they have a pattern. Seeing they are supposed to be a Remington footprint it don't seem like it would take a lot to inlet one to fit the Stiller.. Order it, it will be a fun project.....

New chainsaw chain is right I bought one a while back for a savage project and put every bit of 70 hours into it just for the over all finish of the stock and recoil pad fitting not to mention my buddy put the better part of two hours finishing the inletting and bedding the 96% to 99% is a line of bull if you ask me. Once all said and done it was nice but after all that time and work ended up not being the right stock for what I wanted. Good luck with what you decide on.

Sir
I have two of thier Culbertson Prone stocks in laminate. As others said they require some work but mine finished up nicely and look outstanding. They are an inexpensive stock because you have to do some work but mine are pretty stiff and rifles shoot well.

The inlet fit is about 99% better than they were a couple of years back. Took me about 15 minutes to get a drop in. Outside finish took about an hour. Much better than some of the earlier stocks.
The more time you spend on fit and finish, the better the final product will be.
As far as cost and style selection, they can't be beat. I just finished up #6 and am working on an order for #7. This is #5.

Many moons ago I found a stock design I really liked. The Royal Arms Thumbhole Varminter. The first one I bought was a solid walnut for a Mark X action. The second one was laminated maple & walnut for a 40X. I had both rebarreled with HV tubes and found there wasn't enough meat in the forend. For a build I wanted (in '09) I had Bruce Baer (who has a stock duplicator) blend the trigger to butt section with a beefier forend. He did a great job. This was for a Savage PTA. My son had him build basically the same thing using a Stiller Predator V. Bruce is almost done with another build for me using a Predator V and the same stock. He can pretty much do whatever you want. You can probably tell I like that stock! It is very comfortable and I think it looks good.
