Reuse a muzzle break?

Hey guys fast question. If you rebarrel a gun and are basically using the same barrel countour as your old barrel can you reuse the muzzle break you had on the old barrel and put it on the new one? Are there things to check before doing so is there a strong reason to not do it. Just wondering from those who have tried or know not to if that is the case. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
Don

As long as its the same bore size and fitted properly it should be fine.If you change calibers have it reamed out to match the new bore with the correct extra clearance so the bullet clears the brake. Your gunsmith should make the final determination on the reuse or replacement if totally necessary. Some brakes such as the Vais brake have a few different sizes specific to bore diameters. The Vais has drilled passages and if reamed to big it would fall apart.
