Reticle vibration

The reticle vibrates. Not sure what's happening wether I'm getting vibrations through the new stock but everything seems to be bolted and torqued down fine. It holds point of impact fine. After I shot and I'm still looking throughout the scope the reticle looks like it's vibrating

You don't say if it happens also when dry firing. Are you using a barrel mirage shield?

I had the scope and action on a wild dog stock for about a year and had no problems. I don't have a mirage shield on the barrel. I do know what mirage looks like as we'll. do you guys think that I'm getting vibration through the new stock which is causing the vibration in the scope? I haven't tried dry firing and seeing if it happens will try that tomorrow and see if it happens

I don't think it's because it's an aluminium stock at all. I had 3 other shooters shot it as we'll and they where surprised as we'll. like I said I checked and triple checked all my screws.

However, Aluminum is a very good heat conductor. I am reminded of this every time I reach for a framing square that has laid in the hot sun....the bare aluminum ones are worse than the black anodized squares. They get too hot to handle on certain days.

I was told by a gun smith that he had a rifle he was dry firing and noticed the crosshairs still vibrating,he said he changed the firing pin and spring to a speedlock and the issue went away.
And its not like he was trying to sell me one since I already had one installed.

Hi guys I just dry fired the rifle ten times on all different zooms on the scope and had no reticle vibration. Where do I go from here I'm really scratching my head on this one.

Was the scope cold from the air conditioning? I had almost forgot mine only moved when warm or hot.

If you have eliminated the scope for problems. You could have a harmonic problem with the barrel and the stock is in tune with each other. Try putting a weight on the stock as a damper to change the harmonics and see what that does.

Could putting your fingers on the stock forend be ok?
