I appreciate all of the input. Necchi hit it on the head, the dial reads to the left for longer headspace. That is what I originally thought but when I set the body die down hard on the shell holder it actually increased the headspace, so I figured that I had it wrong the first time.
What I have found is that just minor changes in the amount that the body die is turned down has a big impact on whether the die increases or decreases the headspace. This has been pointed out on other threads, but I didn't realize just how sensitive it is. With a careful adjustment of the die I have it pretty well dialed in now.
