I know its not ideal but i cant get new lapua brass .Now i do have old 5 time shot lapua 6mm br brass can i resize this if im not sure of reamer when i bought first barrel...thanks barry

Short answer, yes if you full length it and hope case head still isn’t swelled at the .200 line(see the other couple threads going on right now about that). May need a small base die.

Best answer, new barrel = new brass..

Brass is out there occasionally if you’re quick enough. Gotta be on a constant search.

I have 6BR Lapua cases with more than 20 reloads. Size a case and see if it will chamber. When you buy a die from a well known manufacturer they don't ask what reamer made your chamber. Buy something like a Whidden bump gauge and a cheap digital caliper at Harbor Freight to measure bump. You should be fine.

It's a well known issue that 6BR cases fired in different chambers thst used different reamers may need a small base die thst normal FL sizing does don't size down the case enough... I have 6BR cases with 30+ firings on it. The number of firings don't matter, Lapya 6br brass lasts forever...it's the reamer used that can cause the issue.

I only had this happen once with a new 6BR barrel from a different Smith. That's why I had my own 6BR reamer made..

5x fired BR brass is almost still virgin, lol. Anneal it, size and try it. If it doesn’t fit do small base die like padom above mentioned and get another 10-15 firings out of it.
