steve123, aside from the shitty neighbor how is living in the Flagstaff area ? Weather ? Hunting/Fishing ? Political climate etc..
Thanks, Ksteel.
It's wonderful in ways. I'll bounce back and forth between the good and the bad.
Few flying insects is one thing I appreciate the most. It's very rare to get bit up. I sleep outside in my lazy boy easy chair, up on the hill in the summer, under our makeshift porch. Yes it's hillbilly but hey it's comfy, and my wife isn't snoring in my ear, lol.
Most of the time it's clear clean air, unless the FS is letting their controlled burning get out of control which is becoming more common. Even though wind is in the forecast they'll do it anyway. Alright so I won't comment further on that subject.
Not hardly any pollution, and the water is tasty. Very rarely it gets up to 100 and just as rarely below -10. It hasn't been to zero yet this year.
Largest Ponderosa stand on earth supposedly, big tall tree's everywhere. Really nice transition country too, I live in this transition zone. I have oak, shaggy juniper, pinion pine, and all sizes of ponderosa pine on my property.
It gets nice and green when we get a lot of snow or a good monsoon season. Otherwise welcome to the arid northern region of AZ.
Yep plenty of game around here or close by, elk, mule deer, coues whitetail, pretty much everything but moose and grizzly. No chucks or beldings around though, there are prairie dogs if you look hard enough.
Not far from us are some lakes and steams. Lake Mary, our main lake, is a muddy ugly lake. But lake Powell is 2.5 hours away and the White mountains the same distance away have nice lakes. Oak Creek canyon is 15 minutes away and Sedona half hour.
Two hours from Phoenix.
It's a college town, there are a lot of smart but staggeringly stupid people, that make my dog look intelligent. No lack of Commy Faggot liberals, I know that sounds mean and judgmental but I don't abide the type and that's what I hate about Flagstaff. But there are plenty of nice people still here.
I vacation in Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Montana. I crave rural living and people that don't suck!
