Thank you, I didn't want to permanently contaminate the inside of mine should I go this route.By chance was there any moly contamination on the inside of the tumbler?
Thanks
Now I know what to look for. Thanks
The reason for me not shooting them is because I don't want to go through the process of removing the moly from the barrel. Why not just shoot them. I know it is debatable, but for the most part it neither helped nor hurt anything. I picked up a super deal on some factory coated bullets because they were mollyed. They shot just fine.
YES! I ruined two tumbler tubs.By chance was there any moly contamination on the inside of the tumbler?
Thanks
In those days, the primary purpose of getting the moly out of the barrel was to prevent the infamous carbon ring build up that caught a lot of shooters by surprise. As you are cleaning your barrel, how do you know if it is moly you are removing or powder?
So you don't soak the bullets. Shake and bake.Guys, don't make this more work than it needs to be. A quick agitation in a hot water solution of Bar Keepers Friend yields excellent results. Just use a disposable plastic food storage tub. No contamination of tumblers or barrels.
Yes. Put the lid on the tub and shake for a minute or two and you'll be finished. No long term soak needed in my experience. This is with Sierra factory moly.So you don't soak the bullets. Shake and bake.
