removing epoxy inside sleeve

I had a sleeve that covered serial # on a 600 action. I removed the action with heat and a wooden dowel. I want to clean up the epoxy inside of the sleeve. What would be the best way to do this, heat and wire brush or acetone?

Hi Nile! Acetone won’t touch cured epoxy in any expedient manner. I’d go with heat and a scraper of some kind. Maybe cut a 1/2” copper pipe on a 45 and sharpen the edge?

The inside finish doesnt matter on a sleeve. You actually want it to be rough, so chisel at it with a screwdriver, scrapers, whatever. If you heat it up it should peel off in chunks

I am thinning the heard. I plan on selling it and I just want look nice. Here are some pictures. send me a PM if interested.
