Removing Dovetail Ring from Base

Trying to remove this 30mm ring to replace it with 1" rings.

Never had this problem, but i have the ring turned 90° and it will not come free from the base. It is loose, but will not come out.

As a note, it is an extended front ring.

There's probably a little burr that's preventing the ring from coming out. Try supporting the base and tapping on the bottom of the ring with a hammer to see if it will move out.
