Removing Devcon from Action Holes?

Acetone at room temperature will soften fully cured Devcon, leave it to soak overnight and it will be soft enough to pick out.

A good drill press with a properly selected index drill bit cleans it out to the minor diameter of the bolt threads. From there it's a matter of chasing the threads with a properly sized tap. It ain't rocket science.
EXACTLY MY THOUGHT, BUT I WAITED FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO GO THERE.IF IT WAS BROUGHT TO ME, I WOULD HAVE PUT IN THE MILL. LOCATED THE HOLE, DRILLED & TAPPED & BE DONE WITH IT.

Damn, I hate it when someone scratches on the bottom of an action before epoxy gluing it to a stock. Epoxy will stock to a smooth surface if properly cleaned, worst case mask off upper surface and beadblast the lower..

All joking aside.. and to keep us out of politics and on subject.. appreciate all the feedback. Interesting to hear everyone’s ways of completing the same task. I’m sure it will be used by many who read this in the future.

eww1350 - my heart sank when I unglued it and saw what said smith had done. I’m in complete agreement, but maybe that’s the way it’s to be done? Well that’s for another thread (proper action prep for glue in applications)
