removing a glued sleeve

I have a 700 action that is glued to a outer sleeve, I would like to remove it. Any suggestions? nilebartram

Warm it up until the epoxy breaks down and press the action out.

Man back when we glued them in a sleeve we ruffed em up somethin awful- hardly recognizable. Id sell it and buy a different one

Bout the only part that wasnt gouged up was around the serial number if the sleeve was milled to show it

The present sleeve is round. I plan to put it in another sleeve that looks like a Panda, a more modern look.

You should be fine then. Id cut it along the bottom then heat and press out. Rough up the inside of the new sleeve, use a bunch of glue (it cleans up)

Was it ruffed up for the glue?

yes it was, but now i will not have to do it for the new sleeve.

Like said above, stick it in a lathe but do not turn the lathe on.
