i am going to chamber a rifle in 510wsm. i have a few options for actions. but the one that cought my eye is the 300 ultra in the link above. my loaded rounds fit the magazine and seem to feed. the other rifles dont have long eough magazine boxes to fit the 750 amax . so if i want a repeater i would have to use it. single shot i have other options.

long story short what would a new unfired barrel in 300 ultra be worth ? 150-200 dollars? not real sure just looking at ways to cut the cost of the build. thanks

Look in the "for sale" forum. People sell factory rifle barrels new/used all the time. That'll give u an idea what they're selling for.

Don't budget your build on getting anywhere near that back.

CDNN has the stainless 300 ultra mag barrels for $50 new take offs

Yep, right in line with what I was thinking...

About $25-30 for a blued version, maybe $50 for a stainless.

And that's figuring zero rounds through it and no removal marks.

As much as I like the M700, reality is that it is still a factory tube. Guys can start getting into the lower ends of "custom" barrels for $150-200, and would definitely buy those over a factory Remington barrel at that price point. The factory tube is going to need to be timed for sights/rollmarks, headspace checked, possibly set back and a reamer run into it to get it right, etc, so you still have almost all the labor costs associated with reinstalling a factory take-off as you would for a new blank install.

Another problem with a 300 RUM tube is that it's pretty much going to have to stay as a 300 RUM.

Sometimes the smaller chamberings will sell better to somebody who wants to run an Ackley reamer into a standard 223 or 243 and save some money on a barrel they are going to shoot out on one good prairie dog trip, but that big cavity of the RUM doesn't leave many other options.

The 300RUM barrels on CDNN are listed for 29.99 but they look like a hunting contour, I called and cant get a straight answer. The one you posted the picture of is a Remington Varmint contour and might bring as high as $50.00 Ive seen them on Ebay for $300 who knows, you might find a sucker.
