remove ejector

G'day, I've been loading and shooting my Ruger RPR single shot as I was getting damaged cases from them bouncing around on the concrete floor at the range, sometimes after bouncing off the next bench. Trouble is, I have to open the bolt with one hand while I cover the action with the other to catch the brass. I decided to remove the ejector pin and spring so i could just use one hand to remove brass and load a cartridge. Now I'm wondering if having the empty pin hole in the bolt face is going to cause any problems when the rounds fire off.

Any Ideas of performance or safety concerns doing this?

Thanks,
Al

Normally, the case neck should seal off the chamber and prevent expanding gas from entering the hole. A pierced primer would vent gas to the bolt face and into the hole, but it'd do that with the ejector in place.

Every one of my rigs (except my gas guns) have the ejector pin removed. Brass stays on the bolt face till "I" pick it off.
Never had issues with the empty hole effecting the case heads BUT, I make it a point to run mid rang loads. Accuracy is never an issue.
5 shot groups that can and are covered with a dime. ;)
