Remove Ejector from Borden Bolt?

So will brass flow into the void left by the ejector on a Remington Model 700 pattern (Borden) bolt if it's removed ? Or would it be better to cut the spring so the ejector lays flush to the bolt face?

I cut the spring so the ejector just sits level with the boltface on my Borden. This is on a6ppc, so the pressures are high, and I have no indication on the case.

I have a TPE action and have tried several times to remove the extractor. It appears that the drift pin that holds the ejector in is quite small. I tried with the smallest drift punch that I have to no avail. Afraid of breaking something. Punch is 1/16". Any thoughts?

I used a pipe cleaner tool to just push it out. I was just testing to see if I would need a small mallet to coax it out but almost pushed it all the way out. I quickly put the bolt into a plastic bag before I shot the ejector and spring across the work space, never to be seen again.
