So will brass flow into the void left by the ejector on a Remington Model 700 pattern (Borden) bolt if it's removed ? Or would it be better to cut the spring so the ejector lays flush to the bolt face?
https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/general-gunsmith-tools/punches/gunsmith-replaceable-pin-punch-set-prod545.aspxI have a TPE action and have tried several times to remove the extractor. It appears that the drift pin that holds the ejector in is quite small. I tried with the smallest drift punch that I have to no avail. Afraid of breaking something. Punch is 1/16". Any thoughts?
The smallest one is for 3/64" pins, which are ~.046". That is most likely your extractor pin size. The punch diameter is .039".Steve, so the pin is under 1/16"?
