Remmy prefit from Northland

so no work needs to be done to the receiver???

If you buy his recoil lug which is a great product from what i understand you will need to have a small notch machined into the receiver like the savage has. A fellow member posted above he did it with a dremel and a file.

Just to recap a little on the recoil lug. If you buy his recoil lug, you can take the screw out of it. This will allow you to install the barrel without the need to cut the notch in the receiver face.
If you leave the screw in the recoil lug, you will have to cut the notch in the receiver face.
The advantage of the notch is that you can tighten the nut without the possibility of the recoil lug moving out of place. It is similar to "pinning" the recoil lug.
If your receiver already has a pinned recoil lug, just use that.

If you go to brownells they sell a small fixture to keep it centered while you are tightening the barrel nut. Once you buy the few tools you can work on any remmage or savage rifle period.
